Children of Men is a 2006 dystopian action thriller film directed and co-written by Alfonoso Cuarón. In 2027, people face a mass infertility that threatens human extinction. Society is on the brink of collapse, as refugees flee from war and global depression. However, people still have good memories of children and miss a world where children existed. Because of this, the main characters of the film do not give up on trying to change their world for the better.

Therefore, this title sequence is focused on a “hope” that still exists in a dystopian world. To represent hope and the innocence of childhood, we used a music box as a framing device. By placing the music box in the middle of the dystopian world and having it continue to play a soothing melody amidst the rubble, we wanted to symbolize that hope and innocence can still exist in a dystopian world.
